Project Description

Two young professionals needed to renovate their home at one of Hilo main surf spots for a growing active family. The clients wanted an airy interior with soft neutrals and fell in love with the accent black contrast that produces a consistent clean vibe. One of the owners was raised in town and wanted to pay tribute by including local elements without the maintenance issues of natural materials. The family has a soft spot for the charm of single wall construction but still needed an updated interior for modern needs and comfortable living. Gathering space was crucial for the project, the removal of interior wall afforded a great room while we had to add a new pool house for entertaining.
