Komohana Bathroom
Project DescriptionSingle wall plantation homes provide unique challenges to design professionals. With 3/4" tongue and groove wood making the entire wall thickness there is nowhere to hide plumbing or electrical. Often homeowners aren’t ready to replace the whole cast iron plumbing systems or upgrade electrical panels. The existing cabinetry was not built for current day human scale and was unusable. During demolition it was discovered that toxic glue was used on the lower wall. We set out to provide a design with the highest impact without moving plumbing locations and increasing the users experience.
